CELEBRATING INNOVATION & ACHIEVEMENTS OF POWERFUL WOMEN OF HISTORY
From managing a home to taking care of everyone’s needs, if a woman can manage an entire house on her own, just imagine the wonders she must be capable of pulling when working from an office. There was a time when most leaders in the corporate and marketing sectors were all male. Women were not even taken seriously in the industry. However, the hard work and dedication of thousands of women entrepreneurs has now changed that and made history.
This Women’s History Month, we want to celebrate the achievements of women in the corporate sector. Those who have followed their passion and made a name and those who have helped other entrepreneurs by offering their marketing services to them.
I suppose that the best way to celebrate would be to discuss the successes of those female entrepreneurs who have been recognized for their commendable work over the past years.
Madam C.J. Walker was born in a family of former slaves in the USA and was orphaned at the age of 7. Later she developed Walker’s Wonderful Hair Grower formula, slowly expanded her business, and soon she was an inspiration to other passionate entrepreneurs.
In 1946, having learned skills working at her father’s hardware store, Estée Lauder sold skincare products to beauty salons. She was wonderful at sales, and today, the global enterprise exceeds a $7 billion benchmark.

Then there was Elizabeth Arden, Ma Perkins, and Coco Chanel, women who had a voice, a purpose, and those that left a mark. All of these are some women in the history of the US that have made a name for women in the corporate sector. There are some more women that we would like to introduce to you.

Unfortunately, despite plenty of success stories, women are still getting underpaid in the corporate sector. Their skills are being appreciated, yet they are not receiving their rightful payment. According to Tanwa Edu, CMO at Culture Whisper, we as women are not confident that we deserve the same salary as men who are working at a similar post.
A good sign, though, is the sisterhood that binds these women. At the CES women’s breakfast in Las Vegas, one can witness successful women sitting together and sharing their stories, shaping minds, and motivating more women.
It is time that we, women, talk about ourselves and give a hand to other women in the corporate sector and bring them up too.
